11/11/2005Remembrance Day
After a brief lapse, here we are again. To be honest, I have been writing a lot of poetry lately, but am hoarding it all away for a certain project... which may or may not take shape. Hopefully that's nice and vague and intriguing for you all.
I found a strange old poem from almost a year ago, which I posted. It is called Pray for the Well-Being of Mr. Henry James Tupper, and it is short... but hopefully sweet. No, I have never had a kidney stone. Paul Ginz improves like a fine wine. Read The Fatal Balance and just try to call me a liar. I dare you. Until next time... enjoy November! Today is a special day in Canada, Remembrance Day, when we remember veterans of war and the conributions and sacrifices they made to our wonderful country not so long ago. One tradition that has become an integral part of Remembrance Day is the reading of "In Flanders Field." It was written by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae (1872-1918). I thought it would be appropriate to post it today: In Flanders Field In Flanders fields the poppies blow We are the Dead.
