| Thank you for dropping by! Before you go any further, note that this site has almost nothing to do with beards. Instead you will find abstract and creative poetry and art. Feel free to roam the site and critique the content, with or without profuse verbal exclamations. And keep in mind that none of the content is meant to be offensive unless you converse with sandwiches, etc.
1/30/2007A Glorious Beard
The Adopt A Beard community, as well as the greater beard community, owe many thanks to Andrew Johnson for his recent contributions.
Please check out his immaculate poem/beard combo below: If only Bonhomme could see me now (make sure you reflect sufficiently upon the awesome splendour of his beard... you will surely be rewarded in your reflections.) The concept of attaching a picture to a poem is also, suprisingly, new to this site.* One might say Mr. Johnson is an innovator of sorts. He definitely has a healthy beard. Cheers, Hamnet * Please feel free to follow his example, as the visual arts enrich poetry--just ask dear old Billy Blake.** ** William Blake posted by Hamnet at 1:44 AM 1/14/2007The Blizzard: Not Just a Tasty Treat
Hello, everyone! Though Saskatoon, my uninhabitable city of choice, was recently hit with its biggest blizzard storm in about 50 years, I am still alive and well. It would seem that Orrin Sheehan, Adopt A Beard's newest contributor, is also alive and well--or good at faking it. You can read his premier effort here. Thank you, friend!
In other news, the ever-clever Ian McPhail graced Saskatoon this past Saturday the 13th, as we did a book signing for So Many Shepherds at McNally Robinson. The event was a success on all fronts. Many thanks to all those who came out and supported us. Also, a big thanks to McNally Robinson for being such kind and gracious hosts. - Yours truly posted by Hamnet at 9:02 PM 1/09/2007Saskatoon Book Signing
This Saturday, January 13th, Ian McPhail and I will be doing a book signing in the Saskatoon* location of McNally Robinson. It will take place from 1-3 p.m. in the afternoon. If you are in the area, we would love to see you there! (See the McNally Robinson website.)
Yours truly, Hamnet *Although there was some confusion--which was due to a somewhat humorous mistake on my part--about the signing taking place in Winnipeg, I fully intend on being in Saskatoon on the 13th. No offense, Winnipeg. posted by Hamnet at 5:35 PM
